A Truth to Live – Throughout history evil empires, tyrants and dictators have caused pain, heartache, suffering and even death to those whose hearts are loyal to Jesus Christ. But the name of Jesus is more powerful than the darkest thought or the most evil act. His love can never be quenched.
Scripture – “And Saul was there, giving approval to his death. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul began to destroy the church. … he dragged off men and women and put them in prison. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ there. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. So there was great joy in that city.” Acts 8:1-8
Prayer – Almighty God, when my day is dark and my life seems isolated from hope I have confidence in You. Help me to face the brightest of days and discouraging moments knowing that You are King and Savior. I serve You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
